Being a photographer can be a wild ride.  It’s like you see the cart you’re hopping into, know the general direction you’ll go, the turns you may take, but it’s not until you’re in the heat of it that you’re eyes are truly opened to all the other twists and turns along the way.  Each month is different. Each year is different.  We’re always learning, always meeting new people, and always open to whatever new thing may be right around the corner.  Photography is opportunity.

Who would have thought that by picking up a camera and starting a business specifically to photograph weddings, that so many more opportunities would be readily available to us?  We’ve been able to photograph high school football games for a local high school in our city, dancers from a local dance studio, a hockey team, real estate, multiple corporate events (one may or may not have enabled me to meet Peyton Manning, but whatever…haha), and so many other things.

I think one of the most precious parts about being a photographer is seeing families grow. Family sessions continue to be a huge part of our growing business.  We’ve had numerous past wedding clients that have stayed in contact with us in order for us to photograph their maternity photos, then newborn photos, and then all the milestones after that.  When you connect with people fairly early on in their love story and stay connected through the first full year of their second child’s life…it’s truly something special.  We had our second daughter in June of 2019, so we feel the importance of these milestones on a deeper level and feel honored to be the ones to document such memories.

We had such a full and enjoyable year in 2019 and we are excited about what’s to come.  Yes, 2020 is off to a squirrely start, we’ll leave it at that, but we trust that everything will work out the way it’s supposed to in the end.
